Eva Mendes was born in Miami, Florida on March 5, 1974 to her Cuban parents, As a young woman, she was attracted towards interior designing and marketing.  

While still in college, she had done a film between her spare time to earn a few extra bucks. It was when an agent noticed her and persuaded her to get into acting that Eva dropped out of highschool.
Her first assignments were music videos, Hole In My Sole with Aerosmith and Miami with Will Smith. In 1998, she had a few TV appearences as the one in Mortal Kombat: Conquest and ER. In the same year, she also appeared in Childres of the Corn V : Fields of Terror.
Mendes followed these with A Night at the Roxbury and Urban Legands: Final Cut. What caught the attention of the audience was the Denzel Washington starrer Training Day eva played his wife. After that, she continued with her winning streak with All About The Benjamins. By now, she had earned quite a fan following for herself. In 2003, the sequel to Fast and the Furious happened. 2 fast 2 Furious with Paul Walker did well on the box office and increased her popularity even more.
Her more recent hits include Desperado II: Once Upon a Time in Mexico (with Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek), Out of Time (with Denzel Washington) and the Stuck On You (with Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear).
